Our company began when we went to one of the harshest, most remote places in Europe to pioneer entirely off-grid metagenomic DNA analysis. We founded Basecamp Research on the belief that nature is better at creating proteins than any AI or scientist.

We're building the largest, most sophisticated, entirely ethically sampled graph database of natural biodiversity in existence, because we know that biodiversity is one of our planet's most important and valuable assets.

What we're most proud of is our team. We're creating a workplace that's diverse, inclusive, and welcoming to everyone. Our team of 24 has 10 nationalities, and we speak 14 languages. 40% of us are women, and just under 50% holds a PhD. We have backgrounds ranging from diplomats and soil experts to cancer researchers.
