Glen was the first to sequence DNA off-grid during an expedition to Europe’s largest ice cap. With an Engineering Biology background at Oxford and Imperial College, where he did his PhD, and early career experience at GSK, he has helped grow Basecamp Research into a company recognised by Bloomberg, The Financial Times and Fast Company for biotech and AI innovation.

Oliver Vince studied Computer Science and Engineering at Oxford,and earned a PhD in cancer drug research. He has led expeditions to extreme environments to collect genomic data, laying the ground work for the largest-ever proprietary foundation of biological data. He serves on the World Economic Forum’s Future Council on Generative Biology.

Phil leads technology development at the intersection of genomics, AI, and bioinformatics. He studied Molecular Biology and Genetics at Oxford, later working in AI-driven drug discovery and teaching bioinformatics. Before Basecamp Research, he developed transcriptomic tools to discover new genes.

John brings over 25 years of experience in gene and cell therapy. He has led scientific teams at Intellia Therapeutics, Codiak Biosciences, and Tome Biosciences, developing cutting-edge gene editing and delivery platforms. John is a pioneer in programmable gene insertion (PGI), with a decade of innovation in advancing its applications.

Richard leads Basecamp Research’s business development, licensing, commercial strategy and partnerships with global pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. He is based in Boston and joins from Biogen, where he spent more than a decade leading strategic transactions across multiple therapeutic and technology platforms, including cell and gene therapy.

Emma leads international field programs to discover novel proteins and biodiversity using cutting-edge DNA technologies. As a marine scientist for the British Antarctic Survey, she lived in Antarctica for 20 months, conducting climate and marine biology research. She brings deep expertise in scientific expedition design and long-term ecological monitoring.

Nick brings over two decades of experience in venture capital backed life sciences growth companies. He held senior roles at SV Health Investors, Delin Ventures and Bootstrap Europe, and began his career at KPMG in audit and transaction services. Nick is a Chartered Accountant specialising in operations for high-growth companies.

Konstantinos brings decades of experience guiding biotech firms through patent strategy and litigation. He held senior IP roles at Tome Biosciences, Vertex Pharmaceuticals, and Biogen. With a PhD in Genetics, he blends scientific fluency with IP strategy in drug development and commercialisation.

Sarah brings over a decade of experience leading people and talent operations in AI and tech companies including Google DeepMind and Synthesia. She enables teams to scale rapidly while fostering strong, inclusive cultures in science-driven environments. Sarah blends data-driven strategy with a human-first approach to support high-performing, mission-led teams.
